Vodafone, Idea network integrated in AP and Telangana

Vodafone Idea coverage is now available across 391 Towns and 19.7K villages in AP and Telangana covering 92.5% area. As far as the 4G coverage is concerned it is now available in 23 districts of both the states for customers of both brands.

Vodafone and Idea have announced the consolidation of their radio network integration in Andra Pradesh (AP) and Telangana. The two states are first among the eight circles to complete integration in the world’s largest network integration exercise which is currently underway in a phasedmanner across the country.

Vodafone Idea coverage is now available across 391 Towns and 19.7K villages in AP and Telangana covering 92.5% area. As far as the coverage is concerned it is now available in 23 districts of both the states for customers of both brands.

Puneet Krishnan, Business Head, Vodafone Idea Ltd, “The successful consolidation of the network in AP & Telangana circle will enable over 2 crore customers of Vodafone and Idea to enjoy a unified network experience on 2G, & 4G.”

As far as other circles are concerned network integration is taking place on a cluster-by-cluster basis . The company said in a statement that special measures have been taken to avoid customer inconvenience with shifting, movement and deployment of equipment during the integration process in other circles

It may be recalled that in August last year Vodafone India and Idea Cellular has completed the merger to create India’s largest telecom company. Under the merger agreement, Idea Cellular was renamed as Vodafone Idea Limited. The merged entity has a network outreach to 92 percent of the population with over 200,000 unique GSM cell sites.
