Vivo iQOO finally goes official as a gaming smartphone with Snapdragon 855, in-display fingerprint

The Vivo iQOO is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855 which is an Octa-core 7nm chipset and is accompanied by Adreno 640 GPU. The device comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage. It's equipped with super liquid cooling, AI Turbo, Center Turbo, Net Turbo, Cooling Turbo, and Game Turbo for better gaming.

Earlier last month, Vivo unveiled a new sub-brand by the name of “iQOO” but no one knew what the Chinese company was getting into at that time. Vivo has finally unveiled the first iQOO smartphone which is a high-end smartphone for gamers, as we first expected it to be.

Before we move on to what it features, the Vivo iQOO will be available for a starting price of 2998 yuan (approx. Rs 32,000) for the base 6GB/128GB variant. The 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB options can be purchased for 3298 yuan (approx. Rs 35,000) and 3598 yuan (approx. Rs 38,000) respectively. Vivo is also offering a top-end version of the iQOO with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage for an asking price of 4298 yuan (approx. Rs 45,500). All models will be available in Lava Orange and Electro-Optic Blue colours.

Coming to the feature, the Vivo iQOO equips a 6.41-inch Full Super with a of 1080 × 2340 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The display incorporates a water drop notch ay the top which brings the screen-to-body ratio to 91.7 percent.

The iQOO gaming phone runs on 9 Pie with Vivo’s Funtouch OS 9 on top and features a 4000mAh battery with support for 44-watt ultra-fast charging.

In terms of optics, the Vivo iQOO features a triple-camera setup at the back which incorporates a 12MP main camera, a 13MP Sony IMX263 lens and a 2 MP depth sensor. For the front, there’s a 12MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.

Additionally, the Vivo iQOO comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner and two electro-optic lines that light up for notifications and when on gaming mode. There are two pressure sensitive buttons as well which is hidden and the phone comes with a 4D-gaming experience which detects scenes from real-time to vibrate. The iQOO is also equipped with super liquid cooling, Turbo, Center Turbo, Net Turbo, Cooling Turbo, and Game Turbo for better gaming on the smartphone with enhanced frame rates and better boots.

Lastly, connectivity options on the smartphone include Dual VoLTE, Wi-Fi, 5, +GLONASS, USB and NFC. The phone weighs in at 196 grams and measures at 157.69×75.2×8.51mm.
