Vivo has teased their sub-brand iQoo yet again at 2019 NBA All-Star Weekend just after it officially announced the brand.
The smartphone with iQoo branding seems to have a back panel with gradient finish and sports a triple camera setup. There’s also a lack of traditional fingerprint scanner on the rear panel. Nevertheless, the new Vivo iQoo seems to propelled by Snapdragon 855 SoC.
The iQoo brand is very likely to come up with top end models as per the rumours and take on brands like Huawei and Samsung. The teaser didn’t show the front but emphasised on the rear panel in the teaser.
Vivo has sent out teasersa week back about the sub-brand but hasn’t explained what iQOO means. While the new sub-brand website iqoo.com is up, it only shows up some information about Vivo and nothing about its latest development. Vivo did generate some activity when it asked its followers how to read their new name. Besides that, neither Vivo nor iQOO have clarified on the matter.
As per leaked images found onWeibo earlier, the first iQOO branded phone could be a foldable smartphone. Itis going to different from the upcoming Galaxy F foldable smartphone in terms of design.
The iQOO phone sports a near bezel-less screen which transform into a tablet as it folds out. In simple terms, the display will be visible on both sides of the phone when it’s not used as a tablet. Mostly, the iQOO phone will be using a part of the same tablet display as its primary screen when a user isn’t using the larger tablet sized screen.
It’s also reported that the device will be priced at around CNY7,000 which roughly translates to Rs 73,700 when the phone comes to India or even more. This will put the iQOO in close competition with Vivo’s ownall-screen APEX 2019 smartphone which was announced last month with a full-screen fingerprint sensing technology and Snapdragon 855.
In the recent past, Vivo has been on the news for a lot of things, mostly regarding its upcoming launches. With alaunch scheduled for February 20, the Vivo V15 Pro is something the Chinese manufacturer is pushing out aggressively.
