From today onwards, you do not have to think too much before opening your heart out on Twitter as the social networking website has officially increased the characterlimit.
Now on Twitter, you can write up to 280 characters against limit of 140 earlier.
“We’re expanding the character limit! We want it to be easier and faster for everyone to express themselves,” tweeted the site.
Twitter has been testing increase character limit in most languages since September this year.
Incidentally, this is the first time that Twitter has increased the charachter limit since it came into existence 11 years back.
As per Twitter, the new limit will be available for all languages except Japanese, Korean, and Chinese, in which space limitations have not been an issue.
Twitter has for long contemplated increasing word limit as it is struggling against other social networks especially Facebook.
