Tata Sky has reportedly slashed the prices of its HD and SD set-top boxes in the offline market. The company has reduced the price of the latest set-top boxes by Rs 400.
With this, Tata Sky HD set-top box now comes with a price tag of Rs 1800 as compared to the original price of Rs 2,200 in the offline market. Similarly, Tata Sky SD set-top box now comes with a price tag of Rs 1,600 against its original price of Rs 2,000, reports Gadgets360.
Interestingly, if one visit the online website of the Tata Sky, you will find out that the HD set-top box is priced at Rs 1699, while the SD variant is priced at Rs 1,499. The move is aimed to give a stiff competition to other DTH operators in the country.
Airtel is offering the SD set-top box for Rs 1,650, while the HD set-top box comes with a price tag of Rs 1,800. Interestingly, the company is also offering Internet TV set-top box for Rs 5,000. DishTV is offering its DishNXT HD set-top box for Rs 1,590, while the standard DishNXT set-top box is priced at Rs 1,490. Interestingly, Videocon d2H HD set-top box is priced at Rs 2,220, while the HD RF set-top box is priced at Rs 2,320.
Meanwhile, Tata Sky introduced its new digital streaming platform in India. Dubbed as Tata Sky Binge, it will initially offer Hotstar, Sun NXT, Eros NOW, Hungama Play via a single subscription fee. Subscribers will also have access to over 5000 titles from the Tata Sky VOD library along with favourite TV shows of the past 7 days. Tata Sky Binge will be available to all Tata Sky subscribers at Rs 249 per month.
