Tata Indicom brings new handset with free SMS offer

The handset is priced at Rs 1,149 and comes with features such as group SMS, quick SMS key, Qwerty input, FM radio, etc.

Tata Indicom, the CDMA brand of Tata Teleservices Limited, has announced a special offer, named as Express, for its new pre-paid customers across circles.

Under this offer, after purchasing the SMS Express (Alcatel OT-255C) handset and recharging with first recharge voucher (FRC) of Rs 55, customers will get free 100 national SMSes every day for the next 60 days.

Additionally, they will also get worth Rs 29. Post exhausting the free SMSes, customers will be charged 50 paise per SMS for all SMSes and all national calls will be charged at 1 paise per second. A free starter kit will be available on the purchase of each Alcatel SMS Express handset along with which the benefits of FRC 55 can be utilised.

“With the launch of SMS Express offer, we want to surprise our customers by clubbing a stylish, functionally rich and attractive handset priced at Rs 1,149 with an unmatched deal of FRC 55 which offers free 100 national SMSes everyday for the next 60 days,” S Ramakrishna, regional head for Tata Teleservices, said.

The handset has features such as group SMS, quick SMS key, input, FM radio, storage capacity up to 500 SMS with 500 phonebook contacts, etc. The handset has a Quick SMS side-key wherein customers can launch a SMS composer screen to compose long SMSes upto 1024 characters at a time.

The handset is currently available in Titanium Grey and Cherry Red colour and is reasonably priced at Rs 1,149.
