Tata Docomo has launched a new value added services for its subscribers called ‘Magic SMS’. The service enables users to convert their standard text SMSes into attractive picture messages.
Yatish Mehrotra, hub head – South, Tata DOCOMO said, “Despite the rising importance of advanced mobile applications; SMS in any form, will always remain the most widely used form of communication for mobile users.”
He believes that the service will be “embraced by the SMS user community for it adds an expression to what you’d like to communicate to your loved ones.”
The service, Magic SMS, helps users to combine picture messages with original text messages using black and white dotted pictures and is available on GPRS enabled handsets with MMS subscription.
Customers can also download Magic SMS content by sending SMS to 55115, post which they will receive the Magic SMS. Every SMS is charged at Rs 3.
The service can be availed by both postpaid and prepaid subscribers. To activate Magic SMS service, you need to SMS ‘start’ to 55115 in case you wish to opt for monthly subscription or SMS ‘MAG10’ to 55115 for weekly subscriptions. There is also an option for daily subscription for which you need to SMS ‘MSG05’ to 55115.
While you’ll be charged Rs 30 for monthly subscription, weekly and daily subscription will cost you Rs 10 and Rs 5 respectively.
Additionally, you can subscribe to the service via IVR by dialing *503# or through the company’s website.
