Spotify Premium plan discounted by 50 percent in India

The discount on the annual Premium plan will be available till December 31.

Music streaming service Spotify is now offering Premium subscription in India at a discounted price for a limited period. The offer is valid only till December 31, 2019, on Spotify Premium and not on the Premium Family plan.

The Spotify Premium subscription comes for Rs 1,189 for the full year. After a 40 percent discount, it is now available for just Rs 699. The company has a monthly subscription plan of Rs 119 which is equivalent to Rs 1,428 for 12 months. So, the Premium subscription will be offered with 50 percent discount in monthly plan.

Spotify currently offers multiple plans on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis. The daily and weekly plans are priced at Rs 13 and Rs 39, respectively. The three and six-month Spotify Premium plans are priced at Rs 389 and Rs 719 respectively. New Spotify Premium users can also avail three months of free subscription.

The new plan is only available for annual subscribers, and there are no discounts on other monthly or weekly plans. The new annual discount is not available for people subscribing through a third-party service or Premium Family that offers premium features for up to six family members.

In India, there are other streaming services as well which includes Gaana, Jio Saavn, YouTube Music, Airtel Music, Apple Music, Amazon Prime Music and Google Play Music. Gaana is available for Rs 399 for one year. The Jio Saavn is available with an annual subscription plan of Rs 299. Airtel Music is offered for free under different Airtel plans.

YouTube Music costs Rs 99 per month and there’s no annual plan for this service. Apple Music and Google Play Music are available at a price tag of Rs 120 and Rs 99 per month. Lastly, Amazon Prime Music comes with Prime subscription that is priced at Rs 129 per month and Rs 999 for one year.
