Sony had unveiled the new Xperia Tablet S at the IFA Berlin convention earlier this year but is yet to announce its availability in India. But sources familiar with product development in Sony India confirmed to The Mobile Indian that the Sony Xperia S tablet will be made available in India mid October with a price tag not less than Rs 25,000 for the base version of the tablet.
The new Sony Xperia Tablet S is the perfect iteration of the original Sony Tablet S that was released last year. Sony has revised the design of the Tablet S and adopted a new slimmer profile for the Xperia Tablet S. This tablet features a new 9.4-inch IPS OptiContrast display with 1280×800 pixel native Resolution for optimum visuals for the users.
The tablet will feature the Google Android Ice cream sandwich operating system on which Sony’s user interface will be added for a better user experience. The tablet packs a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 mobile processor with GeForce Graphics chip. The Xperia Tablet S will also be PlayStation certified, so users can enjoy dedicated PlayStation Mobile games from the PlayStation Store as well.
The company has incorporated an 8 Megapixel camera in the tablet while in the front of the device lies a 1 megapixel camera for video calls or chat.
The tablet features stereo speakers for better sound output and Sony has also added its Proprietary Walkman software that offer great music experience with the ClearAudio+ technology for crisper and clear sound output.
Sony Xperia Tablet S will be available in 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB on-board storage options with Memory card slot for expansion of storage. Besides all this the Xperia Tablet will be offered in WiFi only and WiFi+3G models.
