VoIP service provider Skype is looking forward to adding a new dimension to video calling by providing 3D calling facility.
While talking to BBC News, Microsoft’s corporate vice president for Skype, Mark Gillett, said, “We’ve done work in the labs looking at the capability of 3D screens and 3D capture.”
This being said, the work that remains is to get the perfect devices on which the service can be run successfully, like 3D televisions. Similarly, even mobile phones in the market are capable of recording as well as displaying 3D videos. However, capturing 3D videos through front cameras is still not possible with mobile phones.
