Samsung is expected to introduce the 7-inch display bearing Galaxy Tab 3 but at an affordable price. This will be the third generation 7-inch tablet from the company and will house the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update.
Samsung had introduced the second generation 7-inch and 10-inch display bearing Galaxy Tab tablets since last year. This year at the Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona, Spain, Samsung is expected to announce the third generation 7-inch and 10.1-inch display bearing Galaxy tab 3 tablets. The DigiTimes reported that the Galaxy Tab 3 tablets are expected to be available in the retail market by the first half of this year.
This year, Samsung aims to join the affordable tablet game and plans to launch the 7-inch display bearing Galaxy tab 3 at a price of $150 (Rs 8,250 approx.). Samsung aims to compete with the likes of Asus Google Nexus 7 and Acer Iconia B1 tablets that offer good features at lower budgets.
The Android based tablets in the affordable segments mostly offer casual gaming, reading ebooks, watching videos/movies, web browsing and social networking features.
