Samsung Notebook 9 Pen and Notebook 9 (2018) announced

The devices will be available in select countries starting in December 2017 in Korea, and in the first quarter of 2018 in the U.S.

Samsung has announced the new Samsung Notebook 9 and three new versions of the Samsung Notebook 9 (2018). The devices will be available in select countries starting in December 2017 in Korea, and in the first quarter of 2018 in the U.S. Both the Notebook 9 Pen and Notebook 9 (2018) will be displayed at CES 2018, which is scheduled to take place in Las Vegas.

Starting with the Notebook 9 Pen, the 2-in-1 laptop comes with a magnesium aluminium alloy called Metal 21, which the brand claims to be durable enough. There is a 360-degree hinge that allows it to convert to a tablet from a laptop. The laptop also comes with S Pen, which can recognize 4096 levels of pressure and comes with a tip of 0.7mm thickness. When the S Pen is removed from the notebook, Air Command automatically launches providing convenient S Pen shortcuts, Samsung Notes and Autodesk Sketchbook, so that users can write, draw and create immediately.

Coming to the specifications, the 2-in-1 features a 13.3-inch Full display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, and a maximum brightness of 450nits. The device is powered by the latest eighth-generation Intel Core i7 along with Intel HD Graphics. It is loaded with up to 16GB of DDR4 and up to 512GB of NVMe PCIe storage option.

The device runs on Windows 10 and it features an front-facing camera for facial recognition login through Windows Hello. On the connectivity front, it supports one USB port, one USB 3.0 port, one HDMI port, uSD, HP/mic and DC-in. The device weighs 995 grams and measures 310.5 x 206.6 x 14.6-16.5mm.

The laptop comes with three different versions offering 13.3-inch and 15-inch displays. The device comes with slim bezels and it made of the same Metal 12 alloy for durability. All the versions come with a 75Wh Hexacell battery, which is Samsung’s largest battery placed inside a notebook.

Coming to the specifications, the 13.3-inch and 15-inch models bears a Full HD display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The Samsung Notebook 9 (2018) is powered by the 8th generation of Intel Core i7 processor along with Intel HD Graphics. The 15-inch model also comes with an option of NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics card as well.

The devices are backed by up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of SSD storage. The Notebook 9 (2018) runs on Windows 10 and it also supports Windows Hello secure login with a fingerprint sensor. On the connectivity front, the 13-inch models support USB-C x 1, USB 3.0 X 2, HDMI X1, uSD, HP/Mic and DC-in, while the 15-inch models support Thunderbolt 3 x 1 (or USB type C), USB 3.0 x 2, USB 2.0 x 1, HDMI x 1, uSD x 1, HP/Mic x 1, DC-in. All the versions come with Titan Silver and Crush White colour options.
