Samsung most copied brand by fake phone makers: Antutu

Antutu said that 36.23% of fake phones pretend to be a Samsung Galaxy phone.

Benchmarking service provider, Antutu has said that the design of Samsung’s phones is being copied by the fake phone makers the most. Fake phones are the replica devices which are sold as the real thing.

Antutu said that 36.23% of fake phones pretend to be a Samsung Galaxy phone. Galaxy S7 accounts for eight percent of all the fake phones. Apple obviously is also the on the radar of fake phone makers. Antutu says that fake Apple phones account for 7.72 percent of the bogus market with iPhone 7 Plus lookalikes being the favourite of fake phone makers.

Xiaomi, Oppo, Huawei and OnePlus are also affected by the fake phone market. Antutu said that fake devices constitute 2.64 percent of all devices which were tested on its network.

It says fake phone makers try very hard to mimic the real thing. Antutu says at times, there is almost no visible difference between the real and fake products and even short time use won’t reveal the difference.

Fake phone makers even adopt octa core and deca core processors as well as full screens to look like the real, Antutu says but adds that high cost is deterring the fake phone makers from using a based phone.

As of now, Samsung is the No 1 smartphone maker in India and worldover.
