Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) receives Android Pie update

The Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) was launched with Android 8.0 Oreo last year in India.

After rolling out Android Pie update to Galaxy A8+ (2018) recently, Samsung is now rolling out the Android 9.0 Pie update to the Galaxy A9 (2018) smartphone. The Android Pie update is currently rolling out across Poland. The device was launched with Android 8.0 Oreo last year in India.

SamMobile reports that Samsung has released an Over-The-Air(OTA) update for Galaxy A9 (2018) users. The new update carries build number A920FXXU1BSC5 for the A9 (2018). The update also brings the February Android security patch level to the device.

It is strange that Samsung is yet to release Pie for the Galaxy A7 (2018), which was the first A-series device. Though the company also recently rolled out Android 9.0 Pie Beta update to Galaxy A7 (2018) users in India.

Since the update is being rolled out over-the-air, it may take some time before it comes to your device and will reach all the users in the coming weeks. One can also manually check for the update by going to Settings ->About Phone -> Software Update. Before starting the update, your device should be at least 50% charged with a stable network.

To recall the specs, theSamsung Galaxy A9 (2018) features a 6.3-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity display with 1080×2220 pixels resolution. It is powered by Octa Core Snapdragon 660 processor with Adreno 512 GPU. The phone has 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. The phone has a 24-megapixel primary f/1.7 sensor, with a 10-megapixel telephoto camera that has 2x optical zoom, a 5-megapixel depth sensor, and an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera with f/2.4 aperture. The Galaxy A9 (2018) phone has a 24-megapixel front camera along with an f/2.0 aperture.
