Reliance Jio will compensate its customers by offering 30 minutes of free calling

The telecom giant has now revealed that it will offer 30 minutes of free calling to its Jio customers.

Reliance Jio recently announced that it will start charging 6 paise per minute for outgoing calls on other network. The telecom giant has now revealed that it will offer 30 minutes of free calling to its Jio customers.

The company has revealed that it will be a limited-period offer and it will be introduced once a user makes a recharge after the due date is over. “Customers will get free of 30 minutes the first time they recharge their phones. This one-time offer will be available for the first seven days from the date the plan was announced,” said a person aware of the development told The Economics Times.

The person further revealed that the company is providing this offer as a part of exercise to help a smooth transition for subscribers. Previously, The company has introduced special IUC (Interconnect Usage) Top-Up vouchers for prepaid users which will offer free outgoing minutes and data as well. For now, there are four IUC Vouchers available for Rs 10, Rs 20, Rs 50 and Rs 100.

The cheapest Rs 10 voucher offers 124 minutes of outgoing voice calls to other networks and 1GB of data The Rs 20 voucher provides users with 249 minutes of off-net outgoing calls and 2GB data. The Rs 50 IUC voucher brings 656 minutes of outgoing voice calls to other networks and 5GB data. The top of the line Rs 100 voucher offers 1,362 minutes of non-Jio outgoing calls and 10GB data.

Reliance Jio announced that on October 09, it will start charging its postpaid and prepaid customers 6 paise per minute on calls made on networks other than Jio. The company revealed that it has taken a hit of Rs 13,500 crore due to interconnect usage charges (IUC).
