Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio, on Friday, said that it is almost on the verge of launching its 4G services commercially in all circles, except four circles where it could take four to six more weeks to prepare the network. However, as of now the company has not revealed any specific date for the launch of its commercial 4G services.
To expand its 4G network, the company has even joined hands with Samsung, to provide three months of unlimited free data and a Jio SIM card for existing and new customers of select Samsung smartphones.
As per previous reports, the Reliance Jio will launch its 4G commercial services on August 15 and the first plan to be launched as ‘Freedom’ as a reference to India’s Independence day.
Reliance Industries chairman and managing director, Mukesh D Ambani in RIL’s earning statement said, “At Reliance Jio, we have built an entire ecosystem that will allow Indians to live the digital life to the fullest. This transformational ecosystem consists of Broadband connectivity, devices and powerful applications and services which will be available to every consumer in India.”
The company has also claimed that it has already over 1.5 million test users on its network and the average monthly consumption per user has gone above 26GB, as compared to 18GB in the previous quarter while average voice calling per month is over 355 minutes.
