Redmi Note 8 Pro receives MIUI 11 update in India

The Redmi Note 8 Pro MIUI 11 update also bumps up the Android security version to October 2019.

After rolling out the MIUI 11 update to Redmi Note 6 Pro, Xiaomi has now rolled out the MIUI 11 update to Redmi Note 8 Pro. Some Redmi Note 8 Pro users are taking to Mi MIUI forum to confirm the MIUI 11 update. The MIUI 11 update also bumps up the Android security version to October 2019.


The version number of this new update is MIUI, and the size of the MIUI 11 update is 616MB. But MIUI 11 for Redmi Note 8 Pro is still based on Android 9 Pie and not the latest Android 10.



MIUI 11 stable update brings a lot of new features like new dynamic sound effects inspired by the sounds of nature including animal, water and fire noises, revamped Settings app, video wallpapers, Steps Tracker, Wallpaper Carousel, updated Mi File Manager app, dark mode, and even a Floating Calculator, update Mi Tasks app and so on.


Redmi Note 8 Pro was launched in India recently. It comes in three variants - 6GB RAM + 64GB storage priced at Rs 14,999, 6GB + 128GB variant priced at Rs 15,999 and the premium variant with 8GB RAM + 128GB is priced at Rs 17,999. Redmi Note 8 Pro comes in Shadow Black, Gama Green, and Halo White colour options in India.


Redmi Note 8 Pro features a 6.53-inch FHD+ display with 2340x1080 pixels resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio. There is AI quad rear camera setup with a 64-megapixel Samsung Bright GW1 ISOCELL sensor, 8-megapixel Ultra Wide lens, 2-megapixel depth sensor and another 2-megapixel macro lens. For the front, the phone has a 20-megapixel selfie camera. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio G90T processor. The smartphone runs on Android 9 based on MIUI 10 and packs a massive 4,500 mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
