Redmi Note 6 Pro starts receiving MIUI 11 update in India

MIUI 11 for Redmi Note 6 Pro is still based on Android 9 Pie and not the latest Android 10.

Xiaomi has now started rolling out the MIUI 11 update to Redmi Note 6 Pro in India. Redmi Note 6 Pro users are taking to Mi MIUI forum to confirm the MIUI 11 update. The MIUI 11 update also bumps up the Android security version to October 2019.

The version number of this new update is MIUI, and the size of the MIUI 11 update is 565MB. But MIUI 11 for Redmi Note 6 Pro is still based on Android 9 Pie and not the latest Android 10.

Redmi Note 6 Pro is a part of the third phase of the MIUI 11 rollout. The rollout is scheduled to take place between November 13-29 which includes smartphones like Redmi Note 6 Pro, Redmi 7A, Redmi 8A, Redmi 8A and Redmi Note 8. Redmi 8 and Redmi 8A have already started getting the MIUI 11 update. The Redmi Note 8 and the Redmi 7A will also receive the update sometime later this week or early next week.

MIUI 11 stable update brings a lot of new features like new dynamic sound effects inspired by the sounds of nature including animal, water and fire noises, updated Mi File Manager app, dark mode, revamped Settings app, video wallpapers, Steps Tracker, Wallpaper Carousel, and even a Floating Calculator, update Mi Tasks app and so on.


Redmi Note 6 Pro features a 6.26-inch Full HD+ display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, dual rear cameras of 12MP and 5MP. It has 20MP + 2MP front camera, 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 64GB storage options and 4000mAh battery. Connectivity features of Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS, A-GLONASS, micro-USB 2.0 port and 3.5mm audio jack.
