Realme X teased by CMO ahead of May 15 launch

Realme has today revealed few more details of Realme X on its official Weibo account.

Yesterday, we reported that the Realme X smartphone will be launched on May 15th at an event to be held in Beijing. Now just ahead of the official launch, Realme’s CMO Xu Qi Chase has posted a hands-on image of the upcoming Realme X smartphone on its official Weibo account.

As per the image, the smartphone sports a full-screen display and there is no notch present on the screen, which somewhat confirms that the phone will be loaded with a pop-up selfie camera. This was also hinted in the video teaser, which was posted by the company a few days back. One can also see the power button on the right and volume rockers on the left. Moreover, one can also notice built-in OPPO’s new assistant Breeno on the latest smartphone. Xu Qi Chase posted an image of the retail box of Realme X as well.

Furthermore, Realme has revealed few more details of the upcoming phone its official Weibo account. As per the post, the smartphone will have an and it will be loaded with a high screen-to-body ratio of 91.2 per cent. Realme claims that the selfie module can pop-up more than 200,000 times. The post reads “The leapfrog new species log 01: [lifting full screen] crack clue: screen accounted for 91.2%, AMOLED, can be lifted 200,000 times on May 15, #realmeX# leapfrog new species appeared!”.

As per listing on the Chinese online retailer-JD.com, the company will also be launching Realme X Youth Edition or Realme X Lite alongside Realme X. Realme X Youth Edition or Realme X Lite could be a re-branded version of the Realme 3 Pro, which was launched in India recently. The phone comes loaded with a 6.3-inch full HD+(340 x 1080 pixels) waterdrop-style design display, Snapdragon 710 SoC, up to 6GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, dual rear camera setup with 16-megapixel as a primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor, 25-megapixel selfie camera, Pie OS and will be backed up by a 4,045mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 for fast charging.

As reported earlier, the company will be launching Realme X in India as well, as a smartphone with model number RM1901 (Realme X) got the BIS certification recently.

As far as expected specifications of Realme X are concerned, the smartphone might go with Snapdragon 730 SoC, pop-up front camera, in-display fingerprint sensor based on the sixth generation optical sensing, 5 protection, VOOC 3.0 technology, dual rear camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary camera and 5-megapixel depth camera. Further, the phone said to be available in three variants- 6GB of with 64GB storage (approx CNY 1,599), the 6GB of RAM with 128GB storage (approx CNY 1799) and an 8GB of RAM with 128GB storage (approx CNY 1,999)

As per reports, the company might also announce Realme X Pro, which said to be powered by a Snapdragon 855 and would come in two variants, 6GB of RAM with 128GB storage (approx CNY 2,299) and 8GB of RAM with 128GB storage (approx CNY 2,599).

Earlier, two smartphones were spotted on TENAA, with model no RMX1851 and RMX1901. The RMX1851 looks identical to Realme 3 Pro. However, RMX1901 would be new phone and most likely be a Realme X. As per the listing, the device will have a 6.5-inch Full display with no notch. The phone would have a dual rear camera setup placed vertically at the middle of the rear panel and will be backed up by a 3,680mAh battery. It will measure 161.2 x 76 x 9.4 mm and will go with 3.5 mm jack. The images don’t reveal a fingerprint scanner at the back, which hints towards an in-display fingerprint scanner and might come with a pop-up selfie camera as well. The rear panel shows a gradient finish with black and blue colours.
