Realme X, Realme X Youth Edition launching on May 15

As reported last week, company will be launching Realme X in India as well. In an interview, Madhav Sheth, Realme India head, had confirmed that Realme X will be launched in India as well.

After days of leaks and reports, finally, we have the official confirmation on the launch date of the Realme X smartphone. The smartphone will be unveiled at an event to be held on May 15th in Beijing. Realme has revealed the launch date through its official Weibo account.

The company will also be launching Realme X Youth Edition or Realme X Lite alongside Realme X at the event as ithas been found listed on JD.com. It will be lighter version Realme X and could be a re-branded Relame 3 Pro smartphone launched in India recently. The specifications of the Realme X Youth Edition are expected to be same as Realme 3 Pro. It may feature a 6.3-inch full HD+(340 x 1080 pixels) waterdrop-style design display and is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 710 along with up to 6GB of & 128GB of internal storage. For the optics, it will have a dual rear camera setup with 16-megapixel as a primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. On the front, it has a 25-megapixel camera. The smartphone will run on Pie and will be backed up by a 4,045mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 for fast charging.

As reported last week, the company will be launching Realme X in India as well. Moreover, the smartphone with model number RM1901 (Realme X) got the BIS certification recently, which hints at a launch of the device in India very soon.

Recently, alleged Realme X had been spotted in a video review of Chuwi Aerobook posted by Ben’s Gadget Reviews on YouTube. In the video, a phone can be seen alongside the Aerobook, which most likely the Realme X smartphone, as one can see a dual-camera setup which is vertically-aligned and had a gradient finish same the phone was spotted on TENAA with model number RMX1901. Further, no fingerprint sensor is visible on the rear, so we assume that the smartphone might have an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Here are the specifications of the Realme X smartphone based on the various leaks and reports, Snapdragon 730 will power Realme X and will have a pop-up front camera. It might have an in-display fingerprint sensor based on the sixth generation optical sensing and display will be protected by 5. It may support VOOC 3.0 technology. On the camera front, it might go with dual rear camera setup having a 48-megapixel primary camera and 5-megapixel depth camera. Further, the phone will have three variants- 6GB of RAM with 64GB storage (approx CNY 1,599), the 6GB of RAM with 128GB storage (approx CNY 1799) and an 8GB of RAM with 128GB storage (approx CNY 1,999)

There are also speculated that company might also announce Realme X Pro, which is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 855 SoC and will come in two variants, 6GB of RAM with 128GB storage (approx CNY 2,299) and 8GB of RAM with 128GB storage (approx CNY 2,599).

Earlier, two smartphones were spotted on TENAA, with model no RMX1851 and RMX1901. The RMX1851 looks identical to Realme 3 Pro. However, RMX1901 will be altogether a new phone and most likely it will be Realme X. The TENAA listing reveals that the smartphone will have a 6.5-inch Full display with no notch. The phone is equipped with a dual rear camera setup placed vertically at the middle of the back panel. The phone will be backed up by a 3,680mAh battery. It measures 161.2 x 76 x 9.4 mm and will also have a 3.5 mm jack. The images don’t reveal a fingerprint scanner at the back, which hints at the in-display fingerprint scanner and might come with a pop-up selfie camera as well. The rear panel shows a gradient finish with black and blue colours.
