The latest update will be rolled out through Over-the-air (OTA) and it will be a staged rollout. This means that the company will push the update to a limited number of users first and will begin a broader rollout in a few days after it making sure that there are no critical bugs. The update carries build number RMX1831EX_A.05 and it can be downloaded by going to Settings > Software update.
The new update adds a fingerprint shooting feature for the camera, meaning that users will be able to click photos by tapping on the fingerprint reader. The update also adds new camera watermark and it also improves the quality of the camera. The company has also improved the effect of HDR for the front camera to make the picture look more clear. The update also improves the outdoor portrait skin colour for the rear camera.
Apart from this, the new update also adds reboot function and it also optimises reminders when Developer Options, Accessibility Mode and Device Manager are turned on. The OTA update brings January 05, 2019, Android Security Patch to the latest smartphone as well.
To recall, the smartphone was launched in India November last year. The smartphone come with a price tag of Rs 11,999 for the 3GB + 32GB storage variant and Rs 14,999 for the 4GB + 64GB storage option. Realme U1 features a 6.3-inch Full HD+ dewdrop display with a screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. It is powered by a MediaTek Helio P70 2.1GHz octa-core processor and ARM G72 GPU coupled with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage.
