The recently launch Realme 2 smartphone was up on flash sale for the first time earlier this afternoon on Flipkart. The company has now announced that it has successfully sold 2 lakh units of the smartphone in under 5 minutes of the first flash sale.
The first device under Realme’s independent branding has also managed to hit a new sales record with its first sale online. According to Counterpoint, the company now ranks at 4th position in the online smartphone market with a 4 percent market share in just one month of the sale.
As part of a follow-up, Realme has also announced that it will be hosting its second flash sale of the Realme 2 on September 11 at 12 PM.
Commenting on the immense response, Realme India CEO, Madhav Seth said “We are glad that our customers have loved the second offering by Realme. With Realme 2, we have focused on tapping the customers in the budgeted smartphone segment by providing superior design and performance at affordable prices. The customers’ response to Realme2’s first sale is a testimony of our efforts steering in the right direction and we hope to break many more records in the future with the support of our customers”.
To recall, Realme 2 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. The device is available in two memory configurations: 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. There’s a 6.2-inch SuperView HD+ display with a screen resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels, 19:9 aspect ratio and a 271ppi pixel density. For optics, the Realme 2 is loaded with dual rear cameras that come with a combination of 13-megapixel primary lens with f/2.2 aperture and a secondary 2-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture. For the front, there is an 8-megapixel shooter with f/2.2 aperture.
