Olive launches Android based 3G tablet at Rs 25,000

The device, which can be used for browsing, multimedia, IM, social networking, GPS, gaming, video calling etc, will be available at all Croma stores in the country from August.

Olive Telecom has announced the launch of OlivePad VT100, an based tablet that supports 3.5G HSUPA, WiFi and Bluetooth. The tablet is priced at Rs 25,000.
The device comes with an inbuilt 3 camera and a front camera, and can be used as a touch notebook with capabilities for browsing, multimedia, instant messaging, social networking, GPS, gaming, an e-book reader, television, and voice and video calling.
OlivePad is equipped with features which include flash support, mini port, camera and a smartphone. It will be available at all Croma stores in the country from August.
The company expects to sell around one lakh units over the next six months and aims a turnover of $250 million (more than Rs 1,100 crore) during this fiscal.
Olive Telecom has a product portfolio across the areas: WCDMA, CDMA, GSM and EVDO handsets, mobile computing devices, advanced data modems and devices for wireless broadband. The company currently works with 24 network operators across the globe.
