Vodafone today announced the launch of VoLTE network in Chennai. It has already launched the same in Maharashtra and Goa, Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Karnataka , UP West and UP East. The operator says it will launch the same in phased manner across the country.
Announcing the roll out of VoLTE services in Chennai, S. Murali, Business Head Tamil Nadu, Vodafone India said, “We have been making significant investments to expand, upgrade and modernise our network to ensure that we provide the finest service experience and seamless connectivity to our valued customers. We are delighted that Vodafone is now launching VoLTE services across Chennai.”
“VoLTE is a step further towards enhancing customer experience and enabling our customers in Chennai explore newer possibilities with their smart devices. We plan to expand our VoLTE footprint across Tamil Nadu over the next few months.”
VoLTE services work on the 4G networks speed, which provides HD quality of voice calls and faster call setup to customers. In case of non-availability of 4G network coverage, VoLTE calls will automatically fall back on the 3G/2G network, so that the customers continue to stay connected.
Today most of the smartphones come with VoLTE connectivity but not all. So if you are buying a phone, check first whether it has VoLTE or not.
