Now listen to your city’s Big FM anywhere through mobile

Big FM has teamed up with Airtel and Spice Digital to make its channels from Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Mumbai to be heard anywhere through mobile.

Airtel subscribers can now listen to 92.7 BIG FM even when they are not located in their cities where the FM telecasts its shows. BIG Digital, Big FM’s parent company, has tied-up with Spice Digital as the technology partner and Airtel as the operator for this service.

What this basically means is that if you are a Tamil based in Mumbai, you can listen to 92.7 BIG FM Chennai on your Airtel mobile sitting in Mumbai. This service will be available across all the circles of Airtel.

The service will use FM Streaming Capability and will offer additional service through personalised recommendation for users, special content such as new movies, celebrity specials, and channel language selector to provide the relevant channels to the users.

To subscribe, one has to dial 59270 from his Airtel number. The service does not require the handset to have an FM receiver. The charges for the service has not been announced, however a similar service is already available on Airtel for Radio Mirchi for which users need to pay Rs 10 per week for 100 hours of listening. Charges for Big FM are expected to be similar.

Soumen Ghosh Choudhury, executive vice president and business head, BIG Digital and 92.7 BIG FM, said, “This path-breaking initiative from BIG Digital will make Airtel subscribers feel at home whichever part of the country they are in. The cutting technology used by our partners Spice Digital will ensure the seamless and high quality transmission of 92.7 BIG FM shows anywhere in the country”.
