It seems like HMD Global is all set to launchNokia 6.1 Plus soon in India. The company has teased a launch event in India about a new smartphone.
The teaser has been posted on the company’s official Indian twitter handle. It has even asked the Nokia fans to participate in a contest to join the launch event. The tweet reads “All the Nokia fans out there tell us your favourite Nokia smartphone experience and stand a chance to witness the next exclusive launch event”. However, no exact launch date has been revealed by the company in the teaser.
The tweet also does not reveal the name of the smartphone to be launched at the event. But recently the Nokia 6.1 Plus support page went live in Indiaand it is expected that the company will launch 6.1 Plus in the event. It is also expected that HMD Global might also launch the Nokia 5.1 Plus and Nokia 2.1 along with Nokia 6.1 Plus.
The Nokia 6.1 Plus was first launched as the Nokia X6 in China and it is the first smartphone from HMD Global with iPhone X-like notch display. It was announced in three variants – 4GB RAM and 32GB storage option priced at 1299 Yuan (approx. Rs 13,900), 4GB RAM and 64GB storage priced at 1299 Yuan (approx. Rs 16,900) and 6GB RAM and 64GB storage option is priced at 1,699 Yuan (approx. Rs 18,100). In India, the smartphone is likely to be launched with 4GB RAM and expected to be priced under Rs 20,000.
The smartphone is powered by 1.8 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor. It has a 5.8-inch Full HD+ display (2280 x 1080 pixels) with 19:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
All the memory variants can be further expanded up to 256GB via micro SD card slot. A dual rear camera setup with 16-megapixel primary sensor and 5-megapixel secondary Monochrome boosts the device. It has a 16-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling. The smartphone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and a 3060mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fuel the device. Security features include a fingerprint sensor at the rear and Face unlock as well.
