The Nokia 2 update is being pushed as an over-the-air in batches.
HMD Global has started rolling out June Android security patch update to its Nokia 2 smartphone. Nokia 2 was launched in India last year running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat, with a stock Android experience. Earlier this year, the smartphone received Android Oreo update which will its last update. Meanwhile, a Nokia community admin has also confirmed that the Nokia 2 won't be getting the Android Pie update.
As per a report, Nokia 2 has started receiving the June security update from Google. The update is 84.1MB in size and it is currently rolling out in India. The update is being pushed as an over-the-air in batches. One can check for the update manually by going to Settings > Software updates.
To recall, the Nokia 2 features a 5-inch HD LTPS display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels coupled with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The major highlight of the device is the 4100mAh battery, which the company claims to last 2 days. On the camera front, the device features an 8-megapixel rear camera along with LED flash, while for the front, there is a 5-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calling. The smartphone is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 mobile platform clocked at 1.3GHz. The phone is backed by 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.
Recently, the company rolled out the Android Pie (Go edition) update to its Nokia 1 smartphone. The Nokia 1 was launched last year in India with Android 8.1 (Oreo) Go Edition. With Android 9 Pie (Go Edition), Nokia 2.1 will get lighter apps to save storage space, faster booting and the same set of apps as regular Android but with lighter customisations though ‘Go’ apps.
