HMD Global has today announced the launch of its Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone, the Nokia 1, in India. The smartphone comes with at the best buy price of Rs 5,499 and it will be available at all leading mobile phone outlets across the country from March 28, 2018.

The device will be available in warm red and dark blue colour options and the brand has also introduced Xpress On covers as well. The covers will be available at a price tag of Rs 450 starting from April 2018. Further, the phone comes with Jio Cashback offer of Rs 2,200, which makes the effective price to Rs 3,299. Reliance Jio users will also get 60GB of additional data. This offer is applicable to both new and existing Jio customers.

Additionally, Nokia 1 users will be eligible for a complimentary 12-month Accidental Damage Insurance by Servify on opening the Kotak 811 savings account and activating it with an initial deposit of Rs 1,000 in the introductory period. Lastly, users will get 20 percent discount on booking first ride via redBus.

To recall, the smartphone was announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 along with Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 6 (2018) and the nostalgic 8110 feature phone. Talking about key specifications, Nokia 1 sports a 4.5-inch display with a screen of 854 x 480 pixels.

The device is powered by a MediaTek MT6737M 64-bit quad-core along with 1GB of and 8GB of expandable storage. On the camera front, it features a 5-megapixel shooter on the back of the device and 2-megapixel selfie camera. It is backed by a 2,150mAh removable battery and runs on Android Oreo (Go Edition). On the connectivity front, it supports dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, and GPS.
