Mysterious MediaTek-Powered Xiaomi Cereus surfaces, Is it Redmi 6A?

Xiaomi has scheduled a launch event on April 25 in China in which the company is expected to announce the much in leaks Xiaomi Mi 6X aka Mi A2 smartphone.

An unannounced Xiaomi smartphone which goes by the model name ‘Xiaomi Cereus’ has been spotted on a GeekBench website. The listing has revealed some of the expected specifications of the upcoming smartphone.

In the GeekBench listing via Slashleaks, the Xiaomi Cereus got 745 points in single-core test and in multi-core test it received 3562 points. As per the listing on Geekbench, the Xiaomi Cereus has 3GB and 12 nm based MediaTek MT6765 (more commonly known as the Helio P40) 2.0GHz octa-core processor. The handset is based on the 8.1 Oreo operating system. From the specs, we expect XiaomiCereus could be an entry-level or mid-range smartphone.

As per reports, the Xiaomi Cereus could be the successor of Redmi 5A which is dubbed as Redmi 6A. The Xiaomi Redmi 5A was launched in India last year for Rs 4,999.

There is no information about the pricing and availability of the device as yet, however, given the fact that it has been spotted GeekBench, it will not be much long before we see some new leaks revealing the pricing as well. So we request you to stay updated on our website for the same.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi has scheduled a launch event on April 25 in China in which the company is expected to announce the much in leaks Xiaomi Mi 6X aka Mi A2 smartphone. The Xiaomi Mi 6X will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 clocked at a maximum 2.0GHz rather than the standard 2.2GHz. It will come with a dual rear camera of a 12-megapixel Sony IMX486 primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a secondary 20-megapixel Sony IMX376 sensor with f/1.8 aperture. On the front, there will be a Sony IMX376 (20MP) with f/2.2 aperture and a front-facing flash. The phone will also support for video recording @30fps. The smartphone will run on Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI out-of-the-box and will be backed by a 2,910mAh battery. The phone will be 7.3mm thick and 165mm tall.

The Mi 6X will come in three variants – 4GB RAM with 32GB storage, 6GB RAM with 64GB storage and 6GB RAM with 64GB storage. It is expected to come with a 5.99-inch display with full display with 2160 × 1080 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio.
