MWC 2019: Lenovo unveils new IdeaPad and ThinkPad laptops, Chromebook and monitors

The new line of Lenovo products include the IdeaPad S340, IdeaPad C340, IdeaPad S540 and IdeaCentre AIO A340; ThinkPad T490s, ThinkPad T490, ThinkPad T590 and ThinkPad X390; 14e Chromebook Enterprise and 14w Enterprise laptops and ThinkVision M14 Monitor.

Alongside the launch of the Tab V7 with 6.9-inch FHD+ display and Android Pie, Lenovo has now put out its latest generation of AMD-powered IdeaPad and Intel-powered ThinkPad series of laptops, enterprise notebooks and Chromebooks at the Mobile World Congress in Spain. The new line of Lenovo IdeaPads include the IdeaPad S340, IdeaPad C340, IdeaPad S540 and the IdeaCentre AIO A340. In case of the new ThinkPad range, the additions include the ThinkPad T490s, ThinkPad T490, ThinkPad T590 and ThinkPad X390. Other new launches include the 14e Chromebook Enterprise, 14w Enterprise and ThinkVision M14 Monitor.

Lenovo IdeaPad S340, IdeaPad C340, IdeaPad S540, IdeaCentre AIO A340

The IdeaPad S340 is an affordable laptop with an 8th gen Intel Core i or up to an AMD Ryzen 7 3700U processor with AMD Radeon RX Vega. The device comes with a slim body and a backlit keyboard with a starting price of $369.99 (approx. Rs 26,300).

The IdeaPad C340 comes with a flexible design that lets itself be used as a laptop-tablet, tent or a stand and comes with a 14-inch display. The device can also be purchased with AMD and comes with a fingerprint scanner, Wacom-based Active Pen and a backlit keyboard for starting price of $449.99 (approx. Rs 32,000).

Lenovo’s IdeaPad S540 features a more premium design with dual action fans and RapidCharge technology to offer 0-80 percent charge in an hour plugged in. The laptop will come at a starting price of $729.99 (approx. Rs 51,800) for the AMD-powered base model.

The IdeaCentre AIO A340 comes in 22-inch and 24-inch screen sizes and offers an Intel Core/Pentium processor with an AMD Radeon 530 GPU. The AIO device starts at $499.99 (approx. Rs 35,500).

Lenovo ThinkPad T490s, ThinkPad T490, ThinkPad T590, ThinkPad X390

Lenovo has launched the affordable ThinkPad T490 and T490s models. The T490 comes with a 14-inch display with up to a WQHD resolution, Dolby Vision HDR and 500 nit brightness. It’s powered by an Intel Core vPro i7 processor with up to NVIDIA GeForce MX250 GPU, 48GB of and 1TB SSD. It comes with a hybrid HD + camera with ThinkShutter for privacy and comes in a 22-per cent slimmer profile. The T490s features similar specifications but with an Intel HD Graphics 620, only 32GB of RAM configuration in a 13-inch form factor. The ThinkPad T490 and T490s will start for prices of $999 (approx. Rs 70,900) and $1,279 (approx. Rs 90,800) respectively.

Lenovo’s ThinkPad T590 features a 15.6-inch screen with support for Dolby Vision HDR and 500 nit brightness. It comes powered with up to an 8th-generation Intel Core vPro i7 processor, NVIDIA GeForce MX250 GPU, 48GB of RAM and up to a 1TB SSD. It comes with RapidCharge technology, Dolby Audio Premium, a fingerprint sensor and ThinkShutter for hiding the webcam. The ThinkPad T590 will start for an asking price of $1,029 (approx. Rs 73,000).

The ThinkPad X390 is the smallest ThinkPad with a 13-inch display inside a 12-inch form factor. It features 50-percent fewer bezels than its predecessor, PrivacyAlert and PrivacyGuard for security and a fingerprint sensor. It’s powered by up to an Intel Core vPro i7 processor, Intel HD Graphics 620, 32GB RAM and up to a 1TB SSD. The ThinkPad X390 will be available for a starting price of $1,099 (approx. Rs 78,000).

The ThinkVision M14 offers a 14-inch FHD screen with a brightness of 300 nits. It comes with two USB-C ports, a power pass-through adapter and supports tilt angles from -10 to 90-degrees. The monitor can also be mounted to a wall and is 4.6mm thick. Weighing in at 590 grams, the ThinkVision M14 will be available for $249 (approx. Rs 17,700).

Lenovo has unveiled two Enterprise laptops – the 14w Enterprise and the 14e Chromebook Enterprise. Both laptops come with a 14-inch FHD display with an AMD 3GHz A6/A4 dual-core processor, up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage. The difference between the two is their operating systems. While the 14w Enterprise runs on Windows, the 14e Chromebook runs on OS. The 14e and 14w come at starting prices of $279 (approx. Rs 19,800) and $299 (approx. Rs 21,200) respectively.
