Microsoft is reportedly working on a new version of Windows 10 codenamed as Redstone 5. At the same time, the company is also reportedly working on a new Lean version of the upcoming OS.
As per reports, the new Lean version will allow PC and laptop maker to bring PCs and laptops with lesser storage space. As per Windows Central, the edition will be available for devices with a low as 16 GB of storage space.
Reportedly, Microsoft is removing many components that usually not required in such a low end PC, such as Internet Explorer, regedit and other legacy apps.
Microsoft is said to be ensuring updates do not encounter road blocks in the Lean edition. As per some, that means the updates will come at a slower rate.
However, details are still sketchy as Microsoft has not revealed much about it till now. We are expecting to hear more about the Lean edition in the time to come.
