Micromax Bharat 5 to launch in India on December 1

The company has started sending out media invites that shows the image of the smartphone from front and back panel and a tagline.

Micromax is all set to launch a new budget-centric smartphone under its Bharat series on December 1 in India. Dubbed as Micromax Bharat 5, the smartphone will be unveiled at an event held in Gurgaon at 12:00 PM onwards.

The company has started sending out media invites that shows the image of the smartphone from front and back panel and a tagline. Starting with the tagline, it says ‘Witness the Power of 5’, which could mean that the smartphone could sport a large battery backup.

Coming to the smartphone, one can see the front and back panel of the Bharat 5. The front shows physical navigation keys at the base, while on the top, there is an earpiece and front-facing camera. The back panel sports a dual-camera setup along with LED flashlight and if you go south, you will see the Micromax logo.

Previously, the company partnered with Vodafone and BSNL to launch Bharat 2 Ultra and Bharat 1 4G feature phone in India. The former comes with an effective price tag of Rs 999, while the latter is available at Rs 2,200.

Vodafone customers will have to buy Micromax Bharat 2 Ultra for Rs 2899 and one has to do a minimum recharge of Rs 150 per month for 36 months. At the end of 18 months, users will get a cashback of Rs 900 and after another 18 months, users will get a cashback of Rs 1000. This brings the down the cost of the device to Rs 999. Further, the cashback amount will be credited to Vodafone M-Pesa wallets.

The pack comes with a price tag of Rs 97 and it will offer unlimited internet, unlimited calling, and messages every month.
