The official application of MediaFire, a popular files and image hosting service, has been released for the iOS platform.
MediaFire aims to compete with the likes of Dropbox, Google Drive, SugarSync and more cloud storage providers. Like in other cloud storage services, the MediaFire app also allows users to store their files like documents, spreadsheets, audio and even videos on the cloud. One can view these files from within the app itself.
Besides that, it also brings the functionality to directly upload the freshly captured images from the iOS devices itself.
Users can create and manage folders for different files in the MediaFire app. One can also share files via email, SMS or links but the app does not have social network support. The MediaFire registered account holders also get free 50 GB worth of storage with the app.
MediaFire is expected to release the app for the Android platform in couple of weeks from now. Meanwhile, iOS device users can download the app from iTunes store on their devices with iOS 4.0 or higher.
