Keypoint offers user customisable keyboard for Android users

The app allows selecting the color of each keyboard  as well as ability to adjust the on-screen key height of letters being typed in a message.

KeyPoint Technologies has announced new features for its Adaptxt smart keyboard that allows users to personalise and customise their keyboards. Smartphone and tablet users can choose the look for their devices from a variety of color combinations.

The app allows selecting the color of each keyboard element – the primary keys, the secondary numeric and symbol keys, the background color of the keyboard as well as the key color.

Another feature offered with the upcoming release includes letting users adjust the on-screen key height of letters being typed in a message.

Adaptxt also offers clipboard features including the ability to cut, copy and paste blocks of text and also use the navigation keys to toggle between fields. Users can also add personalised shortcut words and phrases to the user dictionary.

“We’re listening to our users, who have told us they wanted the ability to customize their keyboards with personalized color schemes,” said KeyPoint’s CEO, Sumit Goswami. 

The current version of Adaptxt features 68 language dictionaries, from Arabic to Vietnamese, plus 35 industry-specific dictionaries for professions such as finance, legal and medical, it also provides more than 3,000 shorthand abbreviations from the lingo.

The Themeboard Keyboard Customization, key height resizing and clipboard view features will be available on January 7, 2013. The Adaptxt keyboard app is available for free from Google (https://play.google.com), the Amazon App Store and GetJar store.

The upgraded Adaptxt 1.1 keyboard works with any smartphone running Android 2.1 or later. Adaptxt 2.1 keyboard works with any tablet running Android 2.2 or later.
