Instagram now lets you go live with a friend

Users can add a guest during a live broadcast by tapping the new icon on the bottom right and tap “Add” to invite anyone.

Instagram has announced a new feature through which users can go live with a friend. The update is available as a part of Instagram version 20 and it is available for download from Apple Store and Google Play.

Through this new feature, users can add a guest during a live broadcast by tapping the new icon on the bottom right and tap “Add” to invite anyone who is currently watching the live stream. Once they join, the screen will be spilled into two and the friend will pop up right below user’s screen.

Users can remove the guest and add someone else at any time, or the friend can also choose to exit on their own as well. The live video can be shared to stories when the broadcast is ended and users can choose “Discard” to delete the video from the application. When someone you follow is going live with a friend, you will see two circles stacked together in your stories bar. You can tap on it to watch, and like and comment as you follow along.

Previously, Instagram introduced Poll Sticker in its Stories. Users will be able to add the poll sticker on their stories. All you need to do is drag and drop the sticker anywhere in the story. One can also write their own questions and can even customize the poll choices. After the poll is shared, their friends and followers can start voting and one can also see real-time results, which is similar to what we have seen in Twitter polls.
