Samsung Galaxy S10, S10 Plus in India gets dedicated Night Mode, security patch April 2019

Earlier, the Galaxy S series of smartphones didn’t have a dedicated mode for night shots. It has a "Bright Night" feature that would activate automatically in low-light scenes. In our review of Samsung Galaxy S10+ we had said that pictures clicked in low light had noise and detailing was on the lower side.

A bit delayed but Samsung has released a camera update for Samsung S series of smartphones which include S10, S10 + and S10e in India. The update brings in a dedicated ‘Night’ mode and April 2019 security patch.

The latest software update gives a much-needed option for users to take charge of settings while clicking pictures in low light. The is accessible by swiping across the camera UI. During our brief usage, we did find some improvement in the low light shots after the update. Stay tuned detailed analysis.

You can check whether the update has reached your Galaxy S10 unit by heading to Settings > Software update and hopefully it might have reached your device.
