Images and video of the new Nexus 7 surfaces online

Asus and Google are already reported to be working on a new Nexus 7 tablet which is due for launch later this year. Meanwhile, AndroidCentral blog got hold on video and images of the new Nexus 7 tablet. There is a high possibility that the images and videos might be fake but we doubt that. There is Nexus branding at the back and the Asus logo is clearly visible at the bottom. However, it is difficult to judge whether this is one of the working prototypes or nearly finished products.


The second generation Asus Google Nexus 7 is said to feature a 7-inch LCD display but there is no report about its resolution. The new Nexus 7 though said to house a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8064 mobile processor.

At the rear, it would harbor a 5 megapixel camera which would be capable of recording HD videos while in the front there would be a 1.2 megapixel camera for 720p HD video calling. The second generation Nexus 7 would also have 2 GB RAM and will be offered in two storage options 16 GB and 32 GB. The new Nexus 7 is most likely to have Android 4.3 Jelly Bean MR2 update as well.

The new Nexus 7 will cost slightly more than the first Nexus 7 tablet. Again, the memory card slot will be absent. The button placement remains the same and there is micro USB slot on the side. Coincidentally the Nexus 7 would support USB-on-the-go and we anticipate the 3G as well as 4G LTE supporting models from Google too.
