Google Pixelbook with Google Assistant, Pixelbook Pen announced

The Pixelbook comes with a starting price of $999, while the Pixelbook Pen will be available for $99.

Google has announced latest Chromebook at its “Made for Google” event known as Pixelbook along with a new Pixelbook Pen. The former comes with a starting price of $999, while the Pixelbook Pen will be available for $99. Both the devices are available from today in the US, Canada, and the UK and both of them will be available starting from October 31.

The new Pixelbook a convertible laptop that runs on ChromeOS. Interestingly, it is the first Chromebook that will come loaded with Google Assistant. There is a dedicated Assistant button, through which users can open the virtual assistant. The device comes with a sleek design with just 10.3mm thick and weighs 1.1 kgs. It comes with a 4-in-1 design and users can use it as a laptop, fold the keyboard underneath to easily watch a movie, read your favorite book or take notes in tablet or prop it into tent mode.

The laptop comes with a thin keyboard with soft-touch keys, which are backlit in nature. The trackpad comes with touch-processing algorithms to make sure you can navigate with accuracy. Further, when you don’t have access to WiFi, Pixelbook can automatically connect to your phone’s data.

Coming to the specifications, the Pixelbook comes with a 12.3-inch Quad touchscreen display with a screen resolution of 2400 x 1600 pixels along with 400 nits of brightness. The Chromebook is powered by the 7th generation of Intel Core i5/ i7 along with Intel integrated graphics.

The laptop is backed by up to 16GB of and up to 512GB of SSD storage. On the battery front, the device lasts up to 10 hours and the company claims that 15 minutes of charge can get you up to two hours.

Alongside Pixelbook the brand has also introduced Pixelbook Pen, a smart, responsive which gives you a natural and comfortable feel when you are sketching and writing. Pixelbook Pen uses machine learning for handwriting recognition, and Google has reduced to just 10 milliseconds. It also has 60 degrees of angular awareness and 2,000 levels of pressure sensitivity, so it’s fast and responsive and naturally follows your hand movements.
