Google has today rolled out a new update for its Google Maps service in India which will help users navigate to different places more quickly and efficiently. Post updating Google Maps on your device, the home screen will now load faster and you will see a bunch of shortcuts below to get things done with a single tap.
The first card shows different modes for transportation such as Drive, Public Transport, Walk and Taxi. This surely give you a one tap access as earlier you would need to first navigate the route through drive and then choose other transport modes. While the card below it will pop up some native features from Google Maps i.e. Satellite View, Real Time Traffic, Transport Lines and lastly you can simply download maps for your area from the fourth shortcut.
Cathay Bi, Product Manager Google Maps said, “We hope this new home screen provides a much more intuitive and faster experience for people in India. The Maps team will continue to evolve our products to make them useful no matter where you go or what you do, especially for the millions of people coming online for the first time.”
