Google Keep app arrives for quick note taking, jotting tasks

Google has formally announced the new Keep app that offers taking notes and has been integrated inside the Google Drive. Google Keep will compete with Evernote and other services.

Google has released a new note taking and organizing application, called Keep. Like Evernote, the Google Keep is a simple note taking service to quickly jot down details using mobile app, mobile web and web browser interfaces.

Evernote is one of the most popular note taking and organising application available across different mobile platforms. Now Google has decided to take on Evernote with the new Keep service that is now available on app.

Google Keep allows the users to take down simple notes, create lists and even add photos to a note. One can also add check-boxes to convert a note filled with lists as Checklist. Each note can be colour coded so that it becomes easy to spot specific ones. There are home screen widgets to give you quick access and preview of the notes.

Google has also implemented bit of gestures to the Keep service so the users can Swipe on a particular note to archive it. The Google Keep notes are accessible anywhere – mobile and web browser – through https://drive.google.com/keep/ web link.

However, interesting part is that the Google Keep app has been released for the devices running Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich or higher version. Download the free Google Keep app on your Android smartphone or tablet from the Google Play store.
