Flipboard, the social magazine application that was launched for Android smartphones earlier this year, has now been optimised for Android tablets as well. Till now, the application was not compatible with devices having 7 inch or bigger screens.
But the application is not just an enlarged version of the smartphone application; the Android tablet owners will automatically receive the tablet-optimised version of the App by default that brings four pages of tiles, so they can quickly flip through more of their favorite content without much effort.
Flipboard has been available for Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch range of devices, previous to its debut on Android, and has been one of the most popular applications there as well.
The Flipboard application provides news and web feeds in the form of easy to read web magazine like interface. Flipboard can take feeds for local or web based RSS reader feeds as well as other news sources.
Also, one can share news items directly from Flipboard to social networking websites such as Facebook, Twitter and Google+. Users can also save the content for offline reading using popular applications like Pocket and Instapaper because of its deep integration with the applications.
