Facebook introduces ‘Live Chat With Friends’ and ‘Live With’ features

The ‘Live Chat With Friends’ will be available for both Android and iOS users, while the Live With feature will only be available for iOS.

Facebook has announced two new features to its Live video services with ‘Live Chat With Friends’ and ‘Live With’. The ‘Live Chat With Friends’ will be available for both and users, while the Live With feature will only be available for iOS.
Starting with the Live Chat With Friends, the feature allows users to chat with their friends while watching a live stream. One can invite friends who are already watching or other friends who one thinks want to tune in. Further, one can jump back into the public conversation at any time. During the live stream, one will find the chat box at the top right corner during the live stream, and one can click on the chat head to resume the chatting with his/her friends.
“We’re testing this feature on mobile in several countries, and we look forward to making it available more broadly later this summer,” Facebook said in a blog post.
Moving on, with Live With feature users will be able to invite friends to join their live video. However, this feature will be only available for all profiles and Pages on iOS. In order to use this feature, users need to simply select a guest from the Live Viewer section or tap a comment from the viewer you want to invite. The guest can then choose whether or not to join the broadcast. Users can go live with a guest in both (for a picture-in-picture experience) and landscape mode (for a side-by-side experience).
