In a move to strengthen its mobile presence, Emirates Airlines has launches an App for iPhone users on Apple app store. Earlier this year they had launched an app only for iPad users.
As of now Emirates Airlines is also working on an app for Android devices as well but no timeline has been shared about its launch.
Using Emirates App one can check-in and download his boarding pass. Users will also get push notifications for check-in, flight boarding, gate changes, and baggage belt numbers. Other features in the app includes flight booking, seat and meal selection, Emirates Skywards frequent flyer accounts management and storing of personal flight details, and credit cards information for offline viewing.
Emirates Airlines said in a statement, “iPhone represents the majority of the mobile traffic to our web sites, and therefore we have launched on iOS first. Work is underway for an Android version, even as we continue to look at new features for our iPad and iPhone apps.â€
