Does BoAt Have An Advantage Over GOVO? Poddar Responds

GOVO co-founder sat down with us for an interview and shared insights about the brand’s expansion plans, upcoming products and more.

GOVO recently debuted the first Made-In-India Dolby Atmos Soundbars, including two new models, but the brand won’t be stopping there. In the upcoming months, the company plans to launch more products with Dolby technologies and wants to remain focused on the Audio segment only.

Expansion In Latin America

In an interview with The Mobile Indian, GOVO Co-founder Varun Poddar talked about the newly launched GOVO Soundbars with Dolby Atmos and the aggressive pricing strategy the company has opted for these products. Aside from that, when asked about GOVO’s plans to go international, Poddar said, ” GOVO originated in India, and we have plans to expand internationally. Our products will soon be available in Latin America, starting with countries such as Colombia and Mexico. We also aim to enter markets like Cuba, Brazil, Argentina, and more, as our research indicates that these regions have a preference for the same sound signature that is popular among Indian audiences.”

Does BoAt Have An Advantage Over GOVO?

Poddar also talked about the strong presence of BoAt in the audio products market in India when we asked him how its products rank against the competitor brand’s devices. “BoAt definitely has the first-mover advantage in the Indian market but we differentiate from them in terms of build quality and the sound signature.

The young dynamic co-founder believes that GOVO has the greatest ability to adapt to the needs of Indian consumers, which sets it apart from the competition. “We believe that this adaptability helps the brand in the long run and builds trust among consumers.”

Will GOVO Launch Products Outside Audio Segment?

Poddar confirmed that the brand doesn’t have any plans to expand beyond the audio segment for the foreseeable future. “We believe that the audio segment can be explored a lot further and it could take years before we achieve mastery in the segment. We are solely an audio-focused brand with a mission to give Indian consumers a premium experience at affordable rates.”

What’s Next For GOVO?

Speaking about upcoming launches, GOVO says that it will launch new products in the country whose price could go up to Rs 50,000. In addition, a new lineup of high-end audio systems will debut sometime during the next two months, which will also sport Dolby Atmos. These will be the first-of-their-kind products in the country designed for India.
