Weeks after Apple announced its entry into the TV streaming business, Walt Disney has unveiled its Disney Plus streaming service which will roll out globally on November 12.

Upon launch, users will able to stream content from Disney Plus for a starting price of $6.99 (approx. Rs 480) per month. In contrast to this, Netflix’s basic monthly plan currently starts at Rs 500 in India, though we’ve come to know that the streaming giant is presently testing Rs 250 monthly subscription plan for mobile-only users.

Disney Plus will also be available on an annual subscription basis for a price of $69.99 per year which roughly translates to Rs 4,850.

In terms of benefits, Disney+ users will be Abe to stream content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic on smart TVs, web browsers, on tablets, smartphones and gaming consoles. Subscribers will have the ability to set up individual profiles, just like that on Netflix, with parental controls available for monitoring content that will be accessed by children.

Additionally, all Disney Plus content will be available for offline downloading and the company is also claiming that there will be select content that can be accessed in HDR quality. Like Netflix, Disney Plus will offer a line of recommended content which will be specific to one user. There will be tabs to select from TV and movies with the ability to sort through different genres.

Disney Plus will be available for starting price of $6.99 (approx. Rs 480) per month from November 12.
