Direct to home (DTH) service provider, Dish TV has released a video streaming application, called DishOnline, for Android and iOS smartphone and tablets. The application allows Dish TV subscribers to watch over 35 live TV channels, Catch-Up TV, video on demand and a wide range of Bollywood and Hollywood movies anytime, anywhere. For non-Dish TV users, there is an application called Ditto TV.
Both iOS and Android versions of the application are available for free and can simply be activated with your existing Dish TV account. Existing Dish TV subscribers will be able to access channels across genres – general entertainment channels, sports, Hindi movies, English movies, music, devotional, infotainment and regional – through DishOnline. Some of the popular channels like Zee TV, Sony, Sab, Zee Cinema, Zee Studio, Zee Cafe, Ten Action, Ten Cricket, Zee News, Aaj Tak, BBC, Sony Mix, Masti, Zee Marathi, Zee Tamil and Zee Telugu will now be available on this application.
You have to though subscribe one of the two DishOnline packs – a Jumbo pack priced at Rs 129 and a Starter pack that costs Rs 49. However, as an introductory offer, Dish TV is offering these two packs at Rs 69 and Rs 29 respectively.
Announcing this development, RC Venkateish, chief executive officer, Dish TV India said, “As industry leaders and pioneers of the DTH sector, we continue to reinvent and redefine the market with thought leadership to be ahead of the pack. DishOnline is a unique service for all those valued subscribers who want to keep in touch with their favorite shows and programmes even when on the move.â€
Also note that like all other video streaming services, this service also needs internet connection so either opt for a 3G data pack or connect your device to a good WiFi hotspot for best results.
