BSNL introduces Rs 118 prepaid plan to counter Jio, Airtel and Idea

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced the launch of a new prepaid plan to counter Reliance Jio’s Rs 98 plan. Dubbed as Rs 118 plan, it comes with a validity of 28 days.

The pack is valid for all prepaid customers and it is available in several circles like Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Kolkata and more, reports Telecom Talk. Under this offer, BSNL users will get unlimited voice calls on local, STD and national roaming apart from Mumbai and Delhi circles.

The pack also comes loaded with 1GB of data. However, it is important to note that the telecom operator is yet to roll out 4G LTE services in India, meaning that users will have surf internet on 3G network. Further, the plan also provides free access to PRBT tune (caller tune). Once the plan is activated, BSNL Signature tune will be activated as a default. Users can change, though they have to pay some nominal fee.

The plan is in direct competition with Reliance Jio’s Rs 98 plan. Under this offer, Jio users get unlimited voice calls on local, STD and national roaming along with 2GB of data with a validity of 28 days. Apart from this, users also get 300 SMS as well.

This is not it. Airtel also has a similar plan of Rs 93 that offers 1GB of data along with unlimited voice calls for 28 days. Similarly, Idea Cellular has a similar for Rs 109.
