BSNL announces Rs 899 half-yearly prepaid plan offering 270GB data, unlimited calling

This new plan from BSNL joins the company’s already existing Rs 999 prepaid plan which comes with a validity of 181 days.

State-owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched a new half-yearly prepaid plan of Rs 899. This new plan from BSNL joins the company’s already existing Rs 999 prepaid plan which comes with a validity of 181 days.

The BSNL Rs 899 plan offers unlimited voice calling benefit (except Mumbai and Delhi circles), 50 per day and 1.5GB data per day. In total, the telco is offering 270GB for the entire validity period.

TelecomTalk reports, at the moment, the plan is only applicable in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana circle. The report further says that it is still unclear whether the BSNL Rs 899 prepaid recharge plan comes under the Additional Data offer, which is currently offering an additional 2.21GB data per day.

To recall, BSNL recently introduced the Rs 1,312 yearly prepaid plan in the same Andhra Pradesh & Telangana circle. This BSNL plan offers its users unlimited local/ STD/ voice calls to any network (except Mumbai and New Delhi where BSNL does not have operations), 5GB of data and 1,000 SMS messages. The plan comes with a validity of 365 days and it also offers Personalized Ring Back Tone (PRBT) for a whole year.

BSNL Rs 999 prepaid recharge plan, on the other hand, offers 1.5GB of daily high-speed data, unlimited local and STD voice calls and 100 SMS per day. Under Rs 999 prepaid plan, the unlimited voice calling benefit is also applicable in Delhi and Mumbai circles.

In comparison, Reliance Jio also has a half-yearly prepaid plan of Rs 1,999 which comes with a validity of 180 days. The plan offers 125GB data for the entire validity period, unlimited local, STD and roaming voice calls and 100 SMS per day. Jio is not providing any daily data with this plan.
