Asus Zenfone 4 Max starts receiving Android 8.1 Oreo update

The update is over-the-air (OTA) and it brings version number 15.2016.1809.412.

.Asus Zenfone 4 Max has now started receiving Oreo update. The update includes ZenUI 5.0, the latest version of Asus’ Android skin. The smartphone was launched last year with Android Nougat and was updated to ZenUI 4.0 afterwards.

The update is over-the-air (OTA) and it brings version number 15.2016.1809.412. If you don’t get any update notification, you can manually check for the update by going to the Settings > About phone > System update menu and click Download. Once the update is downloaded on your device, you have to reboot your device, post which the Android 8.1 Oreo update will be installed.

The update will bring in features like Smart Text Selection, Autofill, Picture-in-Picture Mode,Notification channels, snooze notifications and more to the Asus Zenfone 4 Max.

Asus Zenfone 4 Maxsports a 5.5-inch Full display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels coupled with 2.5D curved glass protection. The smartphone comes in two variants: one sport a 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor, while the other one is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 430 processor. The phone comes with different and storage options as well. It comes with a fingerprint sensor as well.

On the camera front, the device sports a dual-camera setup at the rear panel which comes with a combination of 13-megapixel along with flash, 120-degree wide-angle lens (secondary camera) and EIS. For the front, there is an 8-megapixel shooter with f/2.2, 85-degree wide-angle lens and soft LED flash. There is a 2GB RAM with 16GB storage variant; a 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant; and a 4GB RAM with 64GB storage variant. The storage can be further expanded up to 256Gb via micro card slot.
The smartphone is backed up by 5,000mAh battery. On the connectivity front, it supports VoLTE, WiFi, 4.1, GPS, and port. The device measures 154 x 76.9 x 8.9 mm and weighs 181 grams.
