Asus has launched a revamped version of its older Fonepad tablet in India. The tablet, called as Asus Fonepad 7 ME372CG, comes with voice calling and is priced at Rs 17,499 for India. It will be available in the retail market starting this November, Asus announced today.
Asus Fonepad 7, as its name suggests, has a 7 inch touchscreen. The IPS display has HD (1280×800 pixels) Resolution and has 10 finger multi-touch support. The tablet is based on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system and is run by the 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor. There is 1 GB RAM in the tablet which has 16 GB onboard storage. You can also expand its memory by another 32 GB using a micro SD card.
Besides, the Asus Fonepad 7 has 5 megapixel autofocus rear camera, 1.2 megapixel front camera. As per Asus, the rear camera can record full HD videos while the front camera can capture HD videos. It has a 15Wh Li-Po battery that is said to provide 28 hours of talktime and 840 hours of standby on 3G network.
The 10.5 mm thick tablet weighs 328 grams and comes with AGPS & GLONASS for navigation; and WiFi, Bluetooth, Micro USB for connectivity. As said earlier, it comes with SIM connectivity for both 3G internet connection and voice calling.
